What I´m watching: February

Hi!

So as someone who hardly seems to have any free time, because she spends most of her day either going to school, on the bus, working a little bit out, or having fun with horrendous homework, I quite enjoy watching TV shows to fill the gaps in between. So I decided to do a monthly installment of me talking about my favourite shows that particular month or hopefully monthly anyway, we´ll see how well I keep up with it, and doing it monthly also requires that I have something "new" to talk about.

Spoiler alert: I´m about to out myself as a complete nerd.

The 100 (CW) IMDB

We´re going to kick off this list with a show, which I have been watching for quite a while, but it´s only fairly recently that I´ve let it destroy my life completely. I am of course talking about the amazing the 100. The show is set 97 years after a nuclear war destroyed almost all life on Earth, where a group of 100 teenagers who have all committed some sort of crime, are sent back to the ground from a space station, in order to find out if Earth is survivable again.

This show, as I said earlier, didn´t initially impress me a lot. However, that definitely has more to do with how hyped up it was on Tumblr, than the quality of it. But so far season 2 has definitely impressed me with higher stakes, more interesting characters and a really smart plot. I´m so utterly pleased that this show scored a renewal from the CW, because I definitely want to be watching it for a good long time to come.

Brooklyn Nine Nine (FOX)  IMDB

Next show on the list is, like the 100, a show I´ve been watching for quite some time, but unlike The 100 this was complete and absolute adoration at first sight. Brooklyn Nine Nine tells the story of a squad of detectives in Brooklyn´s fictional 99th Precinct and all the completely insane hi-jinks they get up to on the job.

Brooklyn Nine Nine is one of those comedy shows, which genuinely makes my day better, every single time I watch it. On top of that it has an amazing emotional core, and you genuinely care about these characters. This show has brightened many moody Mondays for me and for others I know, and I genuinely do hope it will continue to do so for a long time to come. Lastly, it has some of the same writers as Parks and Recreation, so if you love that show, you can´t go that wrong with checking this show out as well.

The Musketeers (BBC/BBC America)  IMDB

I´m going to put it very simply, this show is entertaining as hell. It´s based on the original novel about the Musketeers, and follows the musketeers Porthos, Aramis, Athos and the newcomer D´Artagnan, as they are doing various things in Paris as the King´s Musketeers.

I fell in love with this show last spring, when it was about to finish it´s first series the following week. I literally marathoned the first nine episodes in one sitting, I was that entertained. It is a really fun show, which probably anyone can watch. Unlike other period shows, such as Game of Thrones or The Tudors, this show is a family show, so even if you don´t like violence, you can easily watch this. The Musketeers is made to be an hour of fun, and it definitely is exactly that.

The Flash (CW) IMDB

I told you, I was going to out myself as a complete nerd didn´t I? (I haven´t read the comics though, so I´m still a little bit cool.) The Flash follows the scientist Barry Allen, who gets struck by lightning when a machine called a particle accelerator explodes. Nine months later he wakes up with superpowers. The Flash pilot was the most watched telecast ever on the CW and for good reason, because this show is absolutely amazing!

This show has incredibly great characters, an interesting and fun plot. I care a lot about all of these characters already, even though it has only been half a season. It is a spin off of Arrow, which you might have heard of, but you definitely don´t need to have seen it, in order to keep up with this show. And if you already watch Arrow, I got to say that I personally think this show is a lot better. Along with The 100 this is definitely my favourite show, which isn´t currently on hiatus.

Anyway, these were the shows I´ve been the craziest about in February, have you watched any of them, or are there any shows currently on that you love? Feel free to let me know, and see you soon :)

Big Hero 6 + Keeping House all alone

Hey guys.
So it´s been a while, sorry about that. But thankfully for you, I´ve actually had a fairly interesting time since I saw you last.

So last week me, and my best friend went to the cinema along with her girlfriend and little brother to see Big Hero 6, since it´s still in cinemas in Denmark. This movie was really amazing, so if you have a chance to either see it in cinemas or pick it up on DVD, you definitely should. The story is really emotional and heart warming despite the fact that it is a kids movie, I think I can say that without spoiling anything. I would definitely see this movie again.

And yes I know, it may be a little weird for a 14 year old and a bunch of 17 year olds to go see a Disney movie but shush!

I also had to look after the house by myself last week, while my parents and sisters were in Austria. Admittedly being all alone for a long time was a little bit terrifying, because whenever you hear a noise, you have to tell yourself it´s just the cat. I did have a fun time, even though I had to spend a lot of time feeding our horses. I think spending time all alone like that is a good thing, because you learn to manage things yourself. You don´t end up getting thrown out on thin ice, once you actually move out.

Most of my time is probably going to spend with school work for the next long while, which is a little bit exhausting, but I´ll try to make the gap between blogposts a little shorter next time.

That´s all for now, bye!

What´s Ahead

Hi!

So since this blog was only started near the end of January, I haven´t had much chance to talk about what I want to do this year/what plans I already have for this year. You could consider this a preview of the adventures to come in the life of Lea.

Travel

I love travelling and experiencing new things, cultures and places, and one of the things I´ll hopefully be doing in the rest of 2015 is exactly that. I already know I´m going to Istanbul with my class in September, which will hopefully be a super interesting trip, even though it will include some school work. But despite the fact that I am currently applying for a job in the height of my summer break, I really want to go away at some point doing the summer with my family. This year it is especially important to me, because I can´t go with them in 2 weeks for their skiing trip, because I am unfortunately born with a handicapped foot, and it is just too much for me. I hope I haven´t jinxed my possibilities of getting that job now by saying I hope I can get a week off.

Ps: It should be noted that my handicap isn´t as serious as some others, who have the same disease as me, but nevertheless I do depend on a compression sock and 2 painkillers every morning in order to have a good day.

"Adulting"

I´m turning 18 in the start of August, which is obviously a bit exciting, especially because a lot of my classmates are already 18. This means the coming months of my life will be full of such nice things as driving school, applying for student support (which is a really nice thing we have in Denmark bless) and in general becoming a legal adult. It is probably a bit silly that I am this excited about it, but it just feels like the beginning of something else in a way, and new beginnings are always a little exciting for me.

Coming out of my shell

As you can´t tell just from text, I´m a very guarded person in the real world. Personally, I like to call it a side effect of being the smart, slightly snarky girl with a bad leg in a class where everyone was obsessed with sports for 10 years. I´ve never been bullied, and I could somewhat hang out with my classmates for the last few years without it being too awkward, but for a long time me and my best friend were very isolated. The result of this was, that I´ve always been worried if anyone actually wants to hear my opinion or is interested in me and what I have to say, which unfortunately means that I mostly choose to be quiet.

However, my New Years resolution for this year is to actually do something radical about this, because I´m going to hold myself back if I keep this up. I´m going to try and speak up more, both in class and in breaks, and I have a job interview in 2 weeks for the job I mentioned earlier, which I´m honestly very nervous about, but I´m going to do my absolute best to ace, because I really want that job, and I can´t stop thinking about how good it would feel to actually get it.

Anyway that´s all for now, I hope the rest of this year is good to me, and to anyone who reads this. What are your goals or things you´re excited for in the coming year? Feel free to let me know.

Bye!

Back to Black

I wanted to start this blog out with something pretty straight forward and easy. This post is pretty straight forward. I love black clothing.
